Poetry
As you probably assume, this is just a little section for me to put my favorite poems. I am by no means a poetry connoisseur (I pretty much just know poetry that I've had to read for school or Academic Decathlon), but I have stumbled upon a few poems that I think are worthy of my exaltation. So while this section will probably be updated either rarely or never, at least I have a spot to throw in any brilliant poems I come across in the future. And just so you know, these aren't links to other pages. I have made a page for each of the poets (because I will presumably add more than one poem for each poet) with the poem texts as they originally appeared. And to begin, I picked an arbitrary number of poems I have recently enjoyed.
Samuel Taylor Coleridge's Kubla Khan & The Rime of the Ancient Mariner
E.E. Cummings' "next to of course god america i
Robert Frost's Birches & Fire and Ice
Langston Hughes' I, Too
James Joyce's XXXVI from Chamber Music
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's Paul Revere's Ride
Carl Sandburg's Grass
William Shakespeare's Sonnet 29
Derek Walcott's A Far Cry From Africa
Walt Whitman's Song of Myself
William Carlos Williams' The Red Wheelbarrow
William Wordsworth's Tintern Abbey
Lastly, here's a link to some of my favorite song lyrics.
