Yes, yes, I'm finally updating after several months.  And I have no idea where to start... there's so much.  I guess I'll just start explaining why it's been so long since the last (real) update...

Mostly I've just been having too much fun.  When I haven't been studying for the many tests that just never seem to end, I've been hanging out and having a blast.  Watching Scrubs, movies, and The Daily Show... driving around Aggieland... and of course, answering Katie's unending string of hypothetical questions.  I'm almost never home anymore, except when I'm studying, so I have very little time for the site.

Well, while we've been doing all this vague 'hanging out,' we've managed to gain a nickname in Brandon's dorm.  Katie, Katherine and I were collectively known as Brandon's 'Harem' for quite some time.  So we took it and ran with it.  Now it's quite extensive, and some of you have probably already heard about this by now.  We now have days of the week and senses assigned to each of us, as well as a band and a record deal in the works.  Ma Semaine... we're gonna be huge.  There we are over to the side, with Brandon in the middle, all pimped out.

I've also been working for the MSC Film Society for the Texas Film Festival this spring.  We've been talking about our guest speakers, which is very exciting, because they're considering a couple of people who we all love (and if you don't you just have not been introduced to their brilliance yet).  I won't drop any names just yet, I'll wait until we have something concrete, but just be assured that you will be extremely jealous when you do find out.

Oh!  Something else that's incredibly exciting... I get to go to Australia this summer!!  I applied to a conservation program called International Student Volunteers (website here) that came to our school to talk, and got accepted, and well... now I'm going to Australia.  I was going crazy about a week ago when I found out that I got assigned to my first choice in Australia.  It's very expensive, but I'm working to try and get corporate sponsorship, which I should be able to do.  It does mean I'll have to be away from you awesome people for an entire month this summer... but I think I can deal with that... :-)

And then we went to Austin!  Man, that was a crazy weekend.  From watching the spray paint artist on 6th Street to sneaking into the Hilton to see the city to 'not' climbing on the statues, it was all great.

Thanksgiving was tons of fun too.  It wasn't too eventful, but still fun.  We watched the A&M v. Texas game on TV at Brandon's house.  Yeah.  We played a good first half, but just couldn't keep it together.  Oh well.  We'll see what happens next time when those t-sips come down to Kyle Field... ;-)  The best part though was Kistie trying to trash talk while surrounded by five Aggies... "Well, at least our band has hair!"  It was hilarious.  And then there was the whole "Stupid walrus" thing, but that's another story.

Now I'm just focusing on getting through finals, which are a bit daunting right now.  I should be ok grades-wise, but it's still a lot of stuff to go through in two weeks.  I'll be immensely relieved when Christmas break finally comes.

Well, not quite as extensive an update as I'd originally planned, but it's late and I'm tired and I'm being pestered by a certain Brandon Nowalk to go to Taco Cabana against my wishes.  So I'll end here, and say good luck on your finals everyone,  and that I hope to see you all soon!

Yeah, so... I definitely haven't updated this thing in almost 2 months.  Wow.

In my defense, though, I've been busy.  I've rarely had a time where I haven't been studying for one test or another, and when I have, I've been out having too much fun to care much about this thing.  So eh.

A much larger update is coming soon, probably over Thanksgiving break while I'm procrastinating doing my history paper.  You can wait until then.

So Katie, Katherine, Brandon and I went to see Shaun of the Dead tonight.  Scariest funny movie I've ever seen.  Or funniest scary movie... either one, it was great.  Definitely look for this one to make an appearance on the Top 100.  Although that does mean that X-men 2 gets bumped off... hm.  Oh well, we'll see.  Maybe I'll have to shift things around again.

I need to be doing work, really.  Two Organic labs to finish and a crazy amount of reading to do before the History test next week.  Blah.  But I'll probably just end up watching another episode of Scrubs or listening to Better Than Ezra.  If you aren't in College Station then you probably don't know, but those are my two newest obsessions.  Gotta love it.

Okay, that's it, I've gotta get some work done... after this update.  Maybe after a trip downstairs to play some pool too...

Wow, almost exactly a week since my last update.  I'm getting good at this.

Today was awesome.

Or yesterday if you want to get technical, but I don't really care that much.

First of all, we had the MSC Film Society retreat today, which was a blast itself.  I haven't put anything up here about that yet, so I'll go ahead now and give it in a nutshell.  Went to the informational with Brandon and all his Nerds, did the application (which we had to write essays for... I felt like I was applying to college all over again... they were fun essays, but still....), then had an interview, which all went really well.  I found out Monday that I ended up on the Texas Film Festival Committee, which was my first choice.  And today I got to meet the rest of the committee.  It's great, I really like all the people on the Film Festival crew, and I can already tell it's gonna be a blast.  Everyone in the society seems really cool on the most part, actually.  I'm excited.

Then I went home, completely neglected my homework and crawled into bed to watch a Scrubs episode.  It was one of those cloudy, gloomy days that are just perfect for laying in bed and doing nothing.  And that's exactly what I did.  And I got to sleep for a couple hours, and messed around on the computer for a little while.  Really relaxing.

After resting, I went over to Kait and Mich's room and watched Napoleon Dynamite.  I mean... we didn't download it or anything, it just happened to pop up on the screen... must have been some special promotion or something... yeah.  But anyway, it was funny.  Funnier than I thought it would be.  Even though there is absolutely no plot, the characters are crazy enough to be immensely entertaining.  Now we can't stop saying "Idiot!"  and  "Heck yes!"  Ah, good stuff.

Then, when we went downstairs to meet Kyle (aka "Chair Boy"), there was actually a pool table open so we played a couple team games.  I rocked the first game and got in at least four balls in a row.  And I ended up on the winning team both times... heck yes!

Then we had mad fun playing poker in the 4th floor lounge.  I really want to play Texas Hold'em more often.  It's so much fun.  We got into some crazy discussions about what Kyle should say when Kait's boy from UNT calls.  And about how I have about a million tells when I play poker.  And about how those "Basement Babes" have got nothing on us 4th floor Muggers.  We even came up with a T-shirt of our own... "4th Floor... We do more (stairs)"  I love it.  We laughed for like 15 minutes straight.  Living up to our Southside Slut reputation I suppose.

Ah, forget football weekends... the in between weekends are just as fun.

9-19-04, 10:08pm

I felt it was time for an update.  So here it is.  Nothing fancy or drastic.  Not much has really happened since the last update, so there's not much to tell, but I figured I'd make the effort anyway.

The past 2 weeks have been filled with studying, football and more studying.  Studying... eh.  Boring.  But Aggie football is awesome.  Just another reason why we're so much better than that other school.  I can't imagine what it must be like to be a part of the opposing team and walking out into Kyle Field to find the entire 12th Man hissing and yelling 'beat the hell' at you.  Man, that's gotta be one of the best home court advantages ever.  Anyway, we beat the hell outta both Wyoming and Clemson...  I even caught some freshman pulling out and made them push, which was fun.  I must say that one of the best parts of the games, though, is the Fighting Texas Aggie Band (whoop!).  Amazing.

Other than that, I've just been getting ready for and taking tests.  Bio's done, now I just have all the rest coming.  In fact, I should probably be studying for Organic (or the O.C. as Katie and Katherine would like me to call it... haha), but I don't think I could focus very well right now, so whatever.

We saw Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow Friday night, instead of going to midnight yell like good little two percenters.  It was good.  Really good.  I love the cinematography and the tie in to Wizard of Oz and all that good stuff.  It was all in all a great fluff movie, one you go to see to do nothing but look.  Eye candy, basically.  Jude Law was beautiful and so was Gwenyth's hair.  It's probably not going on the Top 100, but we'll see... maybe after I watch it again, I'll like it even more.

Alright, so there's been yet another huge makeover to the site.  Hopefully this layout will stay.  Hopefully this one will at least WORK, unlike the others.  The buttons on the left are new, and I must say, I really like them.  And they seem to be working so far.  That's definitely key right now.  Working.  Still not sure what's up with the guestbook... it keeps erasing everyone's posts.  But this time I'm not even going to touch that page, even when I publish new stuff.  Maybe then it'll behave.  Well, I think I've worked out all the kinks.  But we'll see.  There's always more, it seems.  This stupid site is more work than it's worth... haha.  But I'm a nerd, so I keep doing it.  Whatev.

Anyway, college is good.  Very good.  I'm loving it, as a popular McDonald's slogan would have it.  Classes aren't too boring, and neither are the professors.  I'm actually keeping ahead in my work, believe it or not.  Knock on wood.  I can't wait for the weekend when I don't have to study anymore.  Ugh... only 2 more days to go...
